It's a little weird watching the "mental health is health" "It's okay to ask for help" "It's okay to be YOU" crowd be the same people to trot around my asking for mental health help as "receipts" of something or another.
It tells you how much they truly believe that crap. They do not. Mental health for me, but not thee.
@r000t@ligma.pro It's ok to be you, so long as that particular you agrees with my political agenda.
@tyil yes, this.
They also ignore the idea that the factor driving someone to be contrarian just might be a lack of community support.
Again, I have to solve this locally, in the rOS paradigm. Shouldn't have to, but here we are.
@r000t@ligma.pro What's the rOS paradigm?
@tyil A method of organizing, inventorying, configuring, and monitoring ones thoughts, desires, abilities, as well as some biological indicators, in a way that is familiar and comfortable to those used to working with *nix systems.
Cognitive behavioral therapy for nerds, basically. It's helped me a lot, and it makes it easier for the debuggers in my life to specify what exactly they want me to do or change.
@roboneko @tyil it's literally called r000tOS. Who do you think wrote it, and why do you think it'll run on any other hardware?
*That said*, I've been listening to a lot of podcasts from cognitive scientists and a lot of the things they're discussing can be directly mapped onto various parts of this paradigm. So at the end of the day it looks like I just put *nix names on normal cognitive processes.
But again, doing so gives you quite a bit of control, *as long as the control plane is working properly*. That's why I'd classify it as a form of cognitive behavioral therapy.
@roboneko @AlgorithmWolf @errante what the fuck happened to this thread while I was in the car?
@errante @roboneko @AlgorithmWolf alright so since this field is pretty much *all* landmines, all I'm gonna add is
gosh isn't it weird how the "idols" stop being such the moment they "graduate" and then they, I'd assume, get shipped off to a farm upstate because they've outlived their usefulness?
@errante @roboneko @AlgorithmWolf idunno, all I see are what people post on fedi and wind up in my timeline.
