@grey @mkultra @skylar I'm the exact sort of person the Farms targets. I have an unflattering ED page.
Not only do I feel that both have an absolute right to exist, but I also feel that they are the canary in the coal mine for civil liberties across the board.
Besides, show me one class of crime has been committed by Kiwifarms users that has not been committed by Twitter users.
@grey @mkultra @skylar If somebody has committed a crime, such as Joshua Moon, then they should be charged and given a fair and speedy trial before a jury of their peers.
If that's not doable, he and his users have the same 1A rights the rest of us do.
When we decide that people don't deserve the right to speak because they've burned too many bridges, or anything else that subjective, it's all over. If you randomly select 1,000 people and ask them where the line is, you'll get 1,000 different answers. And you only need so many to push the window a little bit more.
Being callous about this and reveling in it is whistling past the graveyard. I would sound this alarm just as hard if Hachyderm or Oliphant got this sort of treatment.

>"Josh is a bad person."
If you genuinely think that these emails start and end at "I don't like him, I think he's bad news, maybe look into this, take care, love Liz", I simply cannot help you. I'm not a licensed special ed teacher.
I've done abuse for MSPs. We throw those emails out. Whatever is getting people to reliably drop someone is probably gonna be extremely libelous, if it's not true.
The other problem is tortious interference and also just straight up harassment. There are instances on fedi that say some pretty extreme shit about me that's very very incorrect and very very inflammatory. And I'm willing to bet that if I harassed the families of employees of tech vendors that they used, at some one point, the police would show up and ask me to stop.
>How is that different than what KF is?
Kiwifarms is a forum. It's a place you can post messages to, and then somebody else can come look at what messages were posted, and hell, maybe even reply to a few. You must go to it, seek it out, ya know... tell your User Agent to fetch the resource on your behalf on the World Wide Web.
On this forum, both sitewide rules *and* cultural pressure deeply discourage involving one's self with the people and topics being discussed. Don't Poke the Glass is a cardinal rule. People calling for such are very quickly ridiculed and outright removed in extreme cases.
Compare and contrast this with actively reaching out and contacting everyone you can find, within x degrees of separation, of literally anybody who may even remotely be in a position to help you exact revenge on someone by taking down their meanie poo poo forum posts about you. Now throw in the threats being insinuated and you have some misdemeanor harassment charges in most US states.
It's the difference between having a bulletin board where you discuss how much of an asshole Bob is, and going to Bob's boss and Bob's landlord and Bob's mailman and the families of all of these people and repeatedly bothering them about Bob and telling them that they're literally murderers if they don't take action against Bob on your behalf.

It's a bit hard for us to produce receipts on bad actors when the bad actors keep taking down the bin of receipts we keep on bad actors.

And that's the other big thing I'd have done differently... Understanding who really needs swayed by any of these threads: Normies. You need a normie-friendly bullet-pointed list of specific, articulable bad acts by the person, in clean, objective, clinical language. Followed by sections for each, with detailed information presented without comment. Comments can come afterwards, but OP needs to read like a police report.
I've also noticed that KF is really good at burying the lede. There are lots of things in the Keffals OP that I would have put front and center if I was in a big PR battle.

Josh is not handling certain aspects of this nearly the way I would be handling it. For one, he hasn't simply made a torrent release of public KF content. Whether this is for strategic reasons is unclear.
